Biography

Sarah Fox is an Appalachian artist and animal activist from Cranberry West Virginia. Having grown up on a farm, she is interested in cultivating a new compassionate future for Appalachian farmers based in plant based living, food justice, and sustainable practices with the land. Her work critiques our current food system and its reliance on animal suffering, as well as the methods used to philosophically and physically disguise this fact. Sarah is interested in examining the ways historically in which our power structures inherently disadvantage animals and other oppressed groups as well as imagining worlds void of white anthropocentric values.
