Biography

Sarah Fox is an Appalachian artist from Cranberry, West Virginia. She graduated with a BFA from Marshall University in 2020 and works primarily as an oil painter, but enjoys ceramics, printmaking and mixed media work. Having grown up on a farm and former coal camp, she is interested in cultivating a new compassionate future for Appalachians based on sustainability, food justice, and equitable community building. She has exhibited her work regionally and has been published in YNST magazine. Sarah was a collaborator for New Media Advocacy Project: Appalachia Reimagined in 2022 and she was the 2023 Artist in Residence at Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge in North Carolina. She is also a founding member of the Huntington based artist collective, HACkS and has served on their steering committee since 2023.
